OUT TAKES Dallas Gears Up for April Screening

OUT TAKES Dallas, the local lesbian and gay film festival, is gearing up for its monthly screening on April 8 at The Magnolia Theater. If you haven’t attended an OUT TAKES Dallas screening, you’re missing out on an evening of fun!
Now in its 11th season, OUT TAKES Dallas brings you the freshest, most thought provoking and scandalous LGBT film available today. The second Thursday of every month is known as “gay movie night” where the community trots on over to West Village to attend the screening. Before patrons head on over to the theater, they stop by the pre-screening mixer in which they can chat with special guests and OUT TAKES Dallas board members.
“We Have to Stop Now” is the feature film for the month of April. The flick follows two lesbian therapists who struggle to keep up the pretense of staying together when a documentary film crew invades their home after the success of their book “How to Succeed in a Marriage without Even Trying”.
For those who frequent OUT TAKES Dallas screenings, you may recall the film from a couple of months ago as a short film. According to Phillip Archer, managing director of OUT TAKES Dallas, the audience reported rave reviews of the film. As a result, the organization is now featuring the full length film in April.
The short film, “Fat Free Milk”, which is scheduled to screen immediately prior to the feature, was created using a novel face-on-animation technique. This short film uses stop-motion and features a youth group coach, Yoav, his new partner, Gil, and a package delivered by a very mischievous stork.
“Both of our films scheduled for screening in April have stood out in one way or another, which is why we’re excited to be screening them for our community,” said Archer.
